Mumbai, April 22: Maharashtra is poised to take a significant leap forward in its digital transformation journey as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gears up to join the ETGovernment Maharashtra FutureTech Summit 2025 as the Chief Guest.
The one-day summit, to be held on April 23 at President, Cuffe Parade, will culminate with the Hon’ble CM felicitating winners of the Maha Hackathon—a state-level innovation challenge organized in partnership with BHASHINI, the Digital India division under the Ministry of Electronics and IT.
Organized by ETGovernment – The Economic Times, in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra, the summit brings together an impressive lineup of ministers, senior bureaucrats, technocrats, and thought leaders from across the public and private sectors.
With the theme “Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Smart Governance,” the conference will spotlight Maharashtra’s ambition to lead India’s digital future through robust policy, infrastructure, and innovation.
The summit will begin with an inaugural session featuring a lineup of senior officials and department heads. Adv. Ashish Shelar, Maharashtra’s Minister for Information Technology and Cultural Affairs, will deliver the Guest of Honour address, where he is expected to outline the state’s digital priorities and push for deeper integration of emerging technologies in governance.
The session will also include remarks from Parrag Jaiin Nainutia, Principal Secretary, IT; Abha Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department; and Manisha Verma, Additional Chief Secretary, Skill, Employment, and Innovation Department, focusing on how technology is being deployed across sectors to improve service delivery and boost administrative efficiency.
Throughout the day, attendees will hear from over 40 distinguished speakers spanning departments such as Urban Development, Agriculture, Education, Policing, and Infrastructure. From AI-driven citizen services to cybersecurity in governance, sessions will address how emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT, and cloud computing are being strategically embedded across public administration and essential services.
The summit’s agenda is packed with deep-dive panel discussions, including topics such as “AI & Data Analytics in Public Governance,” “Cybersecurity and Data Protection in the Era of Digital Governance,” and “The Drone Revolution in Urban Planning.”
Notable participants include Vivek Phansalkar, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai; Aseem Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Urban Development; and Manuj Jindal, Joint Managing Director at MSRDC, among many others.
Another major highlight of the day will be the session hosted by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which will present developments on Aadhaar innovations and data-driven governance tools, featuring top central officials such as Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO, UIDAI, and Amod Kumar, Deputy Director General, Aadhaar Usage Division.
Closing the summit on a high note, CM Fadnavis will address the gathering in the evening, followed by the distribution of awards to winners of the Maha Hackathon—a showcase of digital solutions developed by young innovators to tackle real-world governance challenges in Maharashtra.
