MUMBAI: The Government of Maharashtra on Tuesday transferred seven officials across different administrative positions days before the upcoming budget session in the state assembly. This latest round of bureaucratic reshuffle includes key officials such as the Mumbai City Collector Sanjay Yadav and Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Ltd (MSSIDC) Managing Director Rajendra Nimbalkar.
Yadav, a 2009 batch IAS officer, has now been appointed as the State Project Director of Samgra Siksha Abhiyan in Mumbai, while Nimbalkar has been given the responsibility of looking after the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI), Headquarters in Pune as its MD.
Further appointments include Rajendra Bharud, an officer from the 2013 batch, who was previously working as the Commissioner of the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI) in Pune. He has been reassigned to the position of Project Director for the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan in the Higher and Technical Education Department in Mumbai.
Another officer from the 2013 batch – Deepak Kumar Meena, has been transferred from his role as Additional Tribal Commissioner in Thane to assume the position of Joint Commissioner in the State Tax department in Mumbai, and Sameer Kurtkoti, also from the same batch, has been assigned as the new Commissioner of the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI) in Pune.
In addition, Mahesh Awhad, a 2015-batch officer and currently the Managing Director of Haffkine Bio-Pharma Corporation, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Medical Goods Procurement Authority in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Keerthi Kiran Pujar, a 2018-batch officer who previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad in Ratnagiri, has been transferred to the position of Collector in Dharashiv.
The appointments assume significance ahead of the upcoming state budget in Maharashtra.
